Fatality dips to six as state reports 432 new cases

Imphal, June 28 2021:
New fatality count came down to six in the last 24 hours as the state reported 432 new positive cases out of 4493 samples tested on Monday with a positivity rate of 9.61 per cent.
Monday also reported 608 recoveries which led to reduction in the active caseload by nearly 300 cases.
The active caseload as of Monday was 5642 out of which 2348 are in home isolation and 1708 in CHICs.
As of Sunday 10 pm, 760 patients were admitted to Covid hospitals with 307 on oxygen support and 41 on ventilator support.
On the other hand, 826 patients were admitted to different CCCs and 68 of them are on oxygen support.
The state has reported 40,230 positive cases and 775 fatalities since the beginning of the current year.
The current month has reported 17,667 new cases and 323 fatalities of which 4000 new cases and 75 fatalities were added only in the last seven days.

The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee confirmed six Covid-19 deaths (3 males & 3 females) in the last 24 hours.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal East (2), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (2) .
Two patients each died at JNIMS & DH Churachandpur and one each at Shija Hospitals & Babina Speciality Hospital.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1130 .
Two patients were below 60 years of age while one patient died within 9 hours of arriving at hospital and two within 24 hours.
Two did not have any co-morbid conditions.
According to official reports, all the 432 new cases (231 males & 201 females) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (11), JNIMS (39), District Hospitals (217) and other testing centres (165).The positive cases are from Imphal East (83), Imphal West (100), Thoubal (85), Bishnupur (49), Kakching (22), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (44), Chandel (4), Senapati (4), Tamenglong (8), Tengnoupal (2) and Kangpokpi (29).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The 608 patients discharged in the last 24 hours are from home isolation (291), RIMS (33), JNIMS (7), CCCs (86) and CHICs (191).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 68,418 (general population - 64,597 and CAPF personnel - 3,821) .
Number of recovered cases is 61,646 (general population - 57,878 and CAPF personnel - 3,768) and number of active cases is 5,642 (general population - 5,594 and CAPF personnel - 48) .
The recovery rate is 90.10 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1446 D-type and 445 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District hospitals and government institutions have 420D and 84B type filled cylinders while distribution of medical oxygen cylinders in the last 24 hours included Bishnupur (114D,2B), Chandel (34D,9B), Churachandpur (62D,0B), Senapati (46D,0B), Thoubal (38D,29B), Ukhrul (36D,15B), Tamenglong (11D,0B), Jiribam (45D,12B), Moreh (8D,2B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kakching (12D,12B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney (2D,0B) and CCCs (273D,102B).As of Sunday, 5,34,103 individuals have been given Covid-19 vaccine shots and the number includes 83,205 individuals who have received their second dose.
Only 3115 individuals including 16 for second dose were vaccinated on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in Kakching district, 35 new cases were detected out of 301 samples tested on Monday.
Six cases were detected at Ema Hospital, three at Jivan Hospital and 26 at government RAT Centre.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (23,993), Imphal East (15,218), Thoubal (5671), Churachandpur (5395), Kangpokpi (1759), Tamenglong (2133), Bishnupur (4266), Senapati (1374), Ukhrul (1453), Kakching (3400), Chandel (1146), Noney (557), Tengnoupal (759), Jiribam (747), Kamjong (438) and Pherzawl (109).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (402), Imphal East (295), Thoubal (105), Churachandpur (94), Kangpokpi (29), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (82), Senapati (5), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (62), Chandel (16), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (5), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 22,049 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,754 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,87,661 tests per million population against the national average of 2,91,644 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.65 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 4493 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 9.61 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate stands at 7.66 per cent.
