Essay competition on global warming held at Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi, June 27 2019:
With an aim to draw the attention of the youths on global warming and change their attitude towards the environment, TSA Sadar Hills organized an essay competition on global warming at Kangpokpi DHQs.
More than 30 students from various educational institutions participated in the competition at TC Complex, IT Road Kangpokpi which was graced by Ricky Haokip, AE/EE, SHADC Kangpokpi as chief guest while OC Kangpokpi, Insp H Kipgen and Asst Manager, MSPDCL Kangpokpi Thangminlen Haokip attended as guest of honour and president respectively.
Lalgousem Kipgen of Greenwood Academy, Churachandpur, Lhingnunnem Sitlhou of SFS Daili, Kangpokpi and Piya Nepali of HM Hr Sec School, Keithelmanbi were adjudged first, second and third position respectively in the competition.

Cash award and appreciation certificate were awarded to the winners by TSA Sadar Hills Education secretary, Paominlun Lhouvum.
While speaking to media persons on the sideline of the event, Paominlun Lhouvum emphasised the need to spread awareness about the climate change its harmful impacts.
Identifying global warming as biggest issue mankind is facing, Paominlun Lhouvum said that youths and students are keys to bringing positive changes to protect and preserve environment.
The painting competition aimed at encouraging students to take up responsible roles in saving the planet Earth, he said.
