Rs 1.25 lakh to all tribal cultural troupes

Amidst restrictions imposed by some tribal organizations on participation in the ongoing Manipur Sangai Festival, the state government has left no stone unturned to make it a grand success.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Director of Art and Culture K Sobita said that state government has entrusted the Department to take care of all the cultural programmes of the festival.
Accordingly, the Department is providing Rs 125 lakh each to all the cultural troupes coming from the five hill districts.
Moreover, state government has instructed all the concerned DCs of the hill districts for sending cultural troupes to participate in the festival, the Director disclosed, while adding that people from the hills are actively participating in the festival and thoroughly enjoying themselves.
She also informed that apart from the cultural troupe from Tamenglong, a cultural group comprising 300 delegates from Churachandpur arrived today.
