MU hostellers beat Home Guard

Imphal, April 25 2012:
A Home Guard personnel deployed on duty at Thangjing Hostel (Boys Hostel no.1) of Manipur University was reportedly beaten up by four hostellers of Lamaiching Hostel (Boys Hostel no.3) at around 9.30 pm yesterday.
The injured Home Guard has been identified as one Okram Sudhir (25), s/o O Nabachandra of Charangpat Nepra Mamang Leikai.
He has been admitted to RIMS for treatment.
The Home Guards of MU have approached the MU authority to take up necessary actions against the students involved in the act.
A case has also been registered at Kakwa Police station.
Relating the incident to Hueiyen Lanpao, the injured Home Guard, O Sudhir said that yesterday at around 9:30 pm, four tribal hostellers of Lamaiching Hostel came to Thangjing Hostel and asked him to accompany them to their hostel to which he denied.
However, they forced him and there was an argument between him and the four tribal hostellers.
In the process, one of the hostellers hit him with an iron rod.
HNK Sharma, VC of MU said that the students involved in the crime would be identified and necessary actions would be initiated.
