MSC/CPI drafts 12 political demands

Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India (MSC/CPI) has drafted 12 political demands to be presented to the Government during the 23rd State conference meeting of MSC/CPI slated to be held from July 8 to 10 at Lamlai Chalou Irabot Memorial Hall.
The 12-point demand was drafted during a state council meeting held at Irawat Bhavan today, a statement from MSC/CPI has informed.
Out of the 12 demands, mention might be made of the demand for - special political status for Manipur, free and fair election, ensuring that the Indo-Naga peace talk does not affect the territorial integrity of Manipur, uprooting corruption, issue of land encroachment in connection with border fencing and implementation of Old Pension Scheme among others.
M Iboyaima, veteran CPI leader and state secretariat members namely, L Sotinkumar, M Joykumar, Rk Amusana, N Singhajit attended the state council meeting as presidium members.
