TSA Bandh: Boy injured at Kangpokpi, bandh ends

Kangpokpi, November 20 2014:
A 10-year boy was badly injured at Imphal Tamenglong Road, Kangpokpi this morning at around 7 am by a tear gas bomb suspected to be fired yesterday evening by security forces to disperse bandh supporters who reportedly pelted stones at vehicles passing the national highway.
The injured boy identified as Reetesh Poudel s/o Prakash Poudel of I.T.Road, Kangpokpi Ward No.13 has been admitted at Community Health Centre, Kangpokpi and is under observation.
The injured boy said that he saw an unexploded tear gas bomb near his house in the morning.
As he had never seen such thing before, the boy took the bomb in his hand and played.
Suddenly it exploded and injured him.
His father Prakash narrated that his son came running and called him.
When he came out of the house, he saw his son completely injured on his face.

The injured boy who was to appear his final examination at school was admitted at CHC, Kangpokpi.
Later, the doctor at CHC said his condition was stable, but he has been kept under observation.
Mentioned may be made that, yesterday evening at around 5 pm suspected volunteers of TSA pelted stone at the moving vehicles along the highway near IT.Road junction.
In order to disperse them, police shot several rounds of bullets, teargas and smoke bomb.
In the meantime, the 48-hrs bandh imposed by TSA ended the day with no report of any untoward incident till filing of this report.
According to police source, as many as 40-50 wingers including interstate passenger buses were safely escorted today.
