Imphal, February 19 2020:
Teachers of Government aided schools have warned to commit self-injury by burning if the State Government fails to release the ROP order for 1699 teachers of 584 aided schools in the State, within February 25 .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Joint Administrative Council of All Manipur Government aided School Employed Organisation spokesperson Tokchom Koireng said that the State cabinet passed the ROP 2010 for aided school teachers in September 26, 2019 after a long time.
However, the State Government has failed to issue the necessary order till date.
He lamented that the Chief Minister, on Meeyamgi Numit held on January 15, assured the association that the order will be released at the earliest while the Education Minister also promised to do the needful before the State Assembly commences.
Despite the assurance from the authorities concerned, no positive actions have been taken up till date, asserted Koireng.
He mentioned that the Government aided teachers of the State have been facing immense grievances owing to less monthly salary, which does not reach Rs 10,000 per month.
Saying that unapproved teachers are also present amongst the Government aided teachers, Koireng added that they all are sharing the minimal income together.
Apart from allotting unsuitable income for the aided teachers, which is a huge inconvenience, the teachers have received their salary from October last year.
Koireng warned that the teachers will immolate themselves in front of the residence of their respective local MLA/Minister/leaders if the State Government fails to release the ROP order within February 25 .
