Ch Sheelaramani spoke on the role and responsibility of women in education for children.
Speaking on the role of women in nurturing children, Dr RK Lenin said that both father and mother play important roles in nurturing a child but the mothers play far greater roles.
She said that nowadays, the children are under huge pressure due to the tuition trend regardless of the time of the day and added that most of the children are not given proper balanced diet .
They mostly consume unhealthy fast food and junk foods, she said and added that this can also lead to conditions like anaemia which in turn will lead to lack of concentration and brain power .
Dr Lenin further conveyed that it is rare for today’s children to go out and play in the parks and the adults have themselves to blame for this trend.
According to the concept of the people, education means scoring high marks and getting one's photo printed on the newspaper .
However, real education means the ability to differentiate right from wrong, to think before taking actions, being able to communicate with others and contributing to the society, she added.
