Winter Assembly Session begins:: 1st day sitting wrapped up in 46 minutes

The 6th Session/ Winter Session of 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly commenced from today at the Manipur Legislative Assembly Complex, Chingmeirong here.
The first sitting of the two-day long session got wrapped up in just 46 minutes.
The House took up an obituary reference and observed two-minute silence to condole the departed ex-MLAs namely Pangamba Munal of Wangkhem A/C, LS John of Kangpokpi and Saitu A/Cs and W Komol of Kumbi A/C.In his condolence message, Leader of the House Chief Minister Okram Ibobi termed the untimely demise of the three ex-MLAs as a great loss to the State.
They had worked at their best level for the development and welfare of all people in the State, the Chief Minister noted.
Speaker Th Lokeshwar, RD & PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa, IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip, Parliamentary Secretary K Meghachandra, MLAs Laishom Ibomcha, S Bira and Th Shyamkumar also gave their condolence messages in the House.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, RD & PR minister Francis Ngajokpa, IFCD minister Ngamthang Haokip, Parliamentary Secretary for IPR & MI, K Meghachandra Singh and MLAs L Ibomcha Singh, S Bira Singh and Th Shyamkumar condoled the demise of the three members on the first day of the two-day session.
Late MLA Munal had made immense contribution in bringing all round development in the rural areas of the State, and he played a great role in establishing Primary Health Centres and upgrading Junior High Schools to High Schools levels in Wangkhem constituency, the House remarked.
The House also stated that former MLA LS John took great responsibility in various development activities in the hill areas and added that late W Komol was an important personality who had taken different initiatives to promote the Khadi and Village Industry in Manipur.
After the obituary reference, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi presented the 8th Report of Business Advisory Committee.
The report was unanimously passed by all members in the House.
