Bye-election: 12 paramilitary companies reach Imphal; campaign to end on Nov 19

Imphal, November 17 2015:
As per the Election Commission of India (ECI) notification, the election campaign for the bye-elections to the Thongju and Thangmeiband A/Cs will come to an end at 4 pm of November 19 .
Sources said that election campaigns in both the constituencies were at its peak.
Necessary security measures will be taken up at all the polling stations.
At least ten paramilitary force personnel will be posted at each of the polling stations and 12 company of paramilitary forces have reached Imphal for necessary security arrangement.
Paramilitary forces have already been deployed in Manipur and the new reinforcement will provide security around the polling stations, added the source.
The electorate will cast their votes from 7 am till 4 pm and voters will be prohibited from carrying mobile phones inside the polling booths.
However, polling personnel, observers and DEOs will be allowed to carry their mobile phones inside the booths.
Necessary security measures have already been taken up and all the polling stations have been named.
There will be a total of 41 polling stations in 9-Thangmeiband A/C while 5-Thonju will have a total of 45 polling stations.
Training for all the personnel, who will be posted at the polling stations, has also started.
It may be mentioned that three candidates in Thongju A/C and another three candidates in Thangmeiband A/C will contest in the November 21 bye-polls.
INC candidate Bijoy Koijam, BJP candidate Th Biswajit and Manipur Democratic People's Front (MDPF) candidate G Tonsana are in the fray in Thongju A/C while INC candidate Jotin Waikhom, BJP candidate Khumukcham Joykishan and MDPF candidate G Tonsana will contest at the Thangmeiband A/C.MDPF candidate G Tonsana is contesting in both the constituencies.
