Ukhrul, November 16, 2013 :
In a show of vehement protest to the bomb attack on the office of Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), a sit-in-protest demonstration was staged today at TNL office complex with participation of members of different Tangkhul civil societies.
On Friday night at about 8.10 hours, a powerful bomb exploded at the TNL main office building causing serious damages.
Four entrance doors to different rooms, window panes and furniture inside three rooms were completely broken, while files and other interior items were scattered around the floors.
The impact was so strong that window panes of the neighbouring houses were also shattered and wooden wall of its assembly hall damaged.
Members of various civil societies today staged a sit-in-protest from 11 am to 2 pm at TNL office complex.
They were unequivocal that the act was nothing less than an act of terrorism, and condemned that violence will not bring any solution in any society.
In a press communiqu issued this evening, the TNL, while condemning the bomb blast, called upon the attackers to come forward to resolve any differences through dialogue.
"that violence and intimidation will lead us to nowhere; rather we should adopt the path of reconciliation.
Then only, we can attain peace and tranquillity in our land," said TNL general secretary K.Dickson.
Last night, after a preliminary assessment of the incident site, security forces comprising police and Assam Rifles opined that the attackers used an improvised bomb.
It may be mentioned that it was the second attack on TNL office in less than two-month time.
