Discourse on Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu held

The 488th death anniversary of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was observed at the Old Assembly auditorium yesterday organised by the Organizing Committee of Discourse on Lord Chaitanya.
As a part of the observation, the first discourse on Lord Chaitanya was held.
As per a press note by the Organizing Committee of Discourse on Lord Chaitanya, the event was graced by MLA of Khangabok Assembly Constituency, Surjakumar Okram and Kangjam Chaoba as the presidium members.
Delivering the keynote address, Kshetrimayum Shanta recounted that Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was one of the eminent social reformer of India and maintained that if one follows his ideals and principles, peace and harmony will prevail.
Expressing concern over the rise in cases of intolerance globally and animosity among the different communities in the State, he stressed on the need of following the footsteps of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to overcome such ill feelings.
During the discourse, International Society for Manipuri Gaudiya Vaishnavite general secretary, Manindra Konsam, renowned writer, Laishram Memo Singh, former president of Manipur Literary Society, Shamurailatpam Prahlad Sharma and Director of Irabot Centre for Marxist Studies, Sarat Salam spoke as the resource persons, added the release.
