Threats with bombs and guns unabated

Imphal, June 15 2011:
In the unabated activities of threats with guns and bombs, suspected UGs fired guns at the house of a former assistance finance officer of MU and also hurled a bomb at the house of a contractor.
A shopkeeper was also threatened with a bomb hoax.
Suspected militants fired some rounds at the house of former assistance finance officer of MU, Sapam Shyamjai, at Thongju Part-II Pechu Lampak under Singjamei PS last night around 10.45 pm.
No casualty was reported in the firing.
Four empty cases were recovered nearby the main entrance gate of the house today morning.
The family is yet to know the motive behind the firing.
Unidentified persons also hurled a bomb, which failed to explode, at the house of contractor Jadumani at Wangkhei under Porompat PS last night around 8.30 pm.
Meanwhile, a box wrapped with a paper labled as a 'bomb' was deposited at the main gate of shopkeeper Huidrom Nabakishor of Thiyam Leishangkhong Ningthem Pukhri Mapal last night around 9.30 pm.
The 'bomb' turned out to be a hoax when personnel of the state police bomb detection and disposal squad examined it later today.
