State logs 14 new cases, active cases rise

Imphal, March 15 2022:
The state on Tuesday reported 14 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1189 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a positivity rate of 1.18 per cent against 1.69 per cent reported on Monday.
No death case was reported on Tuesday and the toll stands at 2118 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 193 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 10 patients were discharged from home isolation (7), RIMS (1) and CCCs (2) .
The active cases rose to 114 out of which 37 (32.46 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 292 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 114 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only seven reported fresh Covid cases on Tuesday.
So far, the state has recorded 11,233 positive cases and 116 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 238 new positive cases and 6 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 100 and 3 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 14 fresh cases (8 male & 6 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at JNIMS (7) and other testing centres (7).The positive cases are from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (4), Kakching (3), Kangpokpi (1), Chandel (2), Churachandpur (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,021 (general population - 1,32,007 and CAPE personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,789 (general population - 1,29,785 and CAPF personnel -5,004) and number of active cases is 114 (general population - 111 and CAPF personnel - 3).The recovery rate is 98.37 per cent.
A total of 245 D-type and 88 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 4069 vaccine doses were administered on Monday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,23,708, out of which 11,68,527 had received second doses and 63,494 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,686), Imphal East (30,411), Thoubal (10,138), Churachandpur (11,045), Kangpokpi (3128), Tamenglong (3472), Bishnupur (9821), Senapati (2486), Ukhrul (3266), Kakching (6885), Chandel (2716), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1198), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (703), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati(12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15) Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,158 confirmed cases per mil lion population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,646 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,12,631 tests per million population against the national average of 5,55,771 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1189 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.18 per cent while the cumulative rate came down to 8.61 per cent.
