MASLSA organises 3rd National Lok Adalat

Under the guidelines of the National Legal Services Authority, the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) organised the 3rd National Lok Adalat for the year 2019, at Lamphel Court complex for Imphal West and Imphal East districts today.
National Lok Adalats were also organised at Thoubal, Bishnupur, Ukhrul, Senapati, Churachandour, Chandel, Tengnoupal and Jiribam by the concerned District Legal Services Authorities.
Justice Kh Nobin High Court of Manipur visited the Lamphel Court complex where the National Lok Adalat was held and looked after the benches and proceeding of the Lok Adalat.
Briefing the media persons, Justice Kh Nobin stated that the National Lok Adalat is been held as a part of the Nationwide steps taken up under the National Legal Services Authority to ensure speedy disposal of the pending cases before the Courts with amicable solutions.
He said that normally a case has to be decided by the Court but in the country, due to the number of pending cases before Court, the Lok Adalat is being used as one of the mechanisms to ensure speedy disposal of pending pre-litigations cases.
He also highlighted that due to several factors, it takes times to decide any matter or new cases put up before the Court whether.
But Lok Adalat is something where an amicable solution can be brought if the parties come to an agreement with one another.
He also said that it takes time to take decision regarding any matter put up before the Court as the Court needs to follow the required procedures.
As of now, the State do not have a permanent Lok Adalat like other States and they are looking forward to approach the concerned authorities for establishing a permanent lok Adalat.
He also said that National Lok Adalat is held in a quarterly manner every year.
