Senapati, May 14 2021:
In a bid to assess the deteriorating condition of the road, a team of the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA), the district apex student body inspected the landslide area at Khongnem Thana today.
The site is about 12 km north of Senapati Police Station under Senapati district.
A massive landslide has blocked NH-2, the main lifeline of Manipur on October 23, 2020 last year.
During the inspection, the team found out that the road construction was incomplete.

Speaking to media person, Pung Mark, president Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) lamented that no drainage was made at the landslide prone area.
It may be mentioned that a trailer truck fell off the road last month at the same spot, posing threat especially for heavy trucks to pass along the area.
In view of the worsening condition of the Highway which is the main lifeline of the State, Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) appealed to the State Government, PWD and BIPL, who are in charge of the highway, to immediately look into the matter and expedite the work process at the earliest.
