Cabinet okays upgrade of 10 schools; post regularisation

The state cabinet in its meeting held Saturday at the Chief Minister's Secretariat has approved various agendas including up gradation of 10 high schools to higher secondary schools, regularisation and recruitment of various posts, etc.
According to sources, the meeting chaired by chief minister N Biren decided to give ex-post facto approval to create three supernumerary posts of profes sors in JNIMS; enhancement of superannuation age of nursing personnel holding Group A and Group B posts under the Health and Family Welfare Department from existing 60 years to 62 years; regularisation of posts of drivers in the Manipur Secretariat; engagement of one Lucky as electrician on contract basis for one year from February 1, 2021 in Manipur Bhawan, New Delhi; fill up vacant post of additional chief secretary on temporary basis in the IAS Apex Scale in Level-17 of the pay matrix through DPC/Screening Committee by one time relaxation of the requirement of completion of thirty years of service.
Amendment of Manipur Health Service Rules, 1982; scheme of examination for direct recruitment to Group-Ill & IV posts; service regularisation of 13 staff engaged in the Directorate of Minority Affairs; abolition of one post of agriculture officer, down-gradation and re-designation oftwo posts of agriculture officers as field inspector and regularisation of 14 contractual staff engaged in the Directorate for the Welfare of OBCs & SCs; filling up of vacant post of 291 office assistants in the Department of Schools Education and appointment of two assistant professors of Mathematics recommended by the Manipur Public Service Commission were also agreed upon by the cabinet.
It also approved filling up of one vacant post of state chief informa tion commissioner (SCIC) and one vacant post of state information commissioner (SIC) in Manipur Information Commission by way of direct recruitment; up-gradation of the post of computer operator to the post of assistant data manager in CAF&PD Department; filling up of vacant posts of president and members of the State and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions; ex-post facto approval for appointment of Shanglakpam Nillakanta Sharma to the post of deputy director (Sports Promotion) and Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam to the post of assistant director (Sports Promotion) and holding DPC for filling up of 34 various vacant posts in Jail Department under direct recruitment quota.
The Code of Criminal Procedure (Manipur Third Amendment) Bill, 2021; regularisation of illegal diversion of agricultural land for residential purpose in respect of 23 individuals of Imphal East and Imphal West revenue districts along with conversion of agricultural land to homestead land at village No II - Khundrakpam recorded in the name of Thiyam Jane, son of Th Kokngang of Haotal Pangei, Imphal East; revamping of MANIREDA by re-designation of two posts of scientific officers (Electrical) as one post of scientific officer (Mechanical) and one post of scientific officer (IT); regularisation of three contractual staff and conversion of four causal staffinto contractual engagement were also sanctioned by the cabinet.
The cabinet also decided to recruit 11 multi-tasking staff for Manipur Legislative Assembly, staff for YAS Department and 116 posts of SO in RD & PR Department from among the unlisted agendas brought up in the meeting.
While listed agendas in the meeting including creation of posts of professor for the Departments of Urology, Neurosurgery and Nephrology in JNIMS, Imphal; recruitment/engagement of teachers/staff under Samagra Shiksha, erstwhile SSA and RMSA approved by PAB, Ministry of Education; re-amalgamation of Thahlon sub-division with Churachandpur district and creation of one office of additional deputy commissioner in Chura-chandpur revenue district; and extension of service of MANIREDA director L Manglem Singh for a period of one year from August 1, 2021 till July 31, 2022 were deferred by the cabinet.
Meanwhile, the sources informed that the cabinet approved in-principal implementation of 7th Manipur Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2019 for the employees of MSPCL and MSPDCL including employees of Electricity Department who are on deputation to MSPCL and MSPDCL.
However, fmalisation on the same will depend after due consultation on financial liabilities from the department concerned.
