Training programme on food processing & value addition held

The 3-days training programme on "Food processing & value addition of different horticultural crops" organised by Clover Organic Private Limited in collaboration with ICAR- KVK Churachandpur concluded today at KVK Churachandpur.
The training programme was conducted under the sponsorship of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur.
During the programme, a team led by KVK Scientist Dr S Roma Devi gave practical training on the preparation of squash, pickle, jam, candy, cheese and paste from horticultural crops like pineapple, passion fruit, amla, King Chilli, guava and ginger.
Altogether, 37 participants from 6 FPCs including Khuga Valley, Manmasi, Zawlbuk, Green Hills, Gilgal and Than Than took part in the training.
Moreover, Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) yesterday organised a 2-days training cum sensitisation programme on "Farmers Producer Company (FPC) management, food processing and value addition" for Reangluang Organic FPC Ltd under Mission Organic Value Chain Development For North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) Phase-I&II at Reangluang FPC Office Awangkhul village, Noney district.
It was attended by DSSS field inspectors Guangjuanliu Gonmei, Romila Phaomei and Martina Phaomei as resource persons.
During the programme, the resource persons demonstrated the steps and procedures for processing different types of fruits & vegetables.
The participants were also educated on how to prepare banana & tapioca chips, king chilli pickle, green chilli pickle, ginger candy, bamboo shoots pickle, chicken pickle, bitter brinjal pickle, etc.
About 40 farmers from 8 FIGs under Reangluang FPC Ltd took part in the training.
