Imphal, December 30 2012:
United Committee Manipur (UCM) is all set to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister along with fixing a deadline for arresting Livingstone and taking up necessary legal actions against him in connection with Chandel molestation case.
In case of failure, UCM has warned that it is fully to prepare to launch more intense agitations.
Even after the indefinite Manipur Bandh had been withdrawn and sit-in-protest and other forms of agitations are being launched, the State Government has not been able to arrest the NSCN-IM cadre who allegedly molested and assaulted film actress Momoco and opened fire at two other male artists during a musical concert at Chandel head quarters on December 18.The State Government had earlier declard Livingstone as a wanted man and announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh to anyone who could provide information leading to his arrest.

Considering the slow pace of the Government towards ensuring justice to the victims, UCM has decided to fix a deadline to the State government for taking up actions against the NSCN-IM cadre.
It has also warned of launching more intense agitations in case the Government fails to arrest the culprit within the set deadline.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Y Nabachandra, President of UCM, lamented that the State Government has not been able to arrest Livingstone even after launching various public agitations.
Adding to the public resentment, the State forces have killed a journalist.
This has further created tensions among the people.
So, the Government needs to understand the feelings of the public and do the needful at the earliest possible.
In this regard, UCM would be submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister giving a deadline for the arresting Livingstone and if the government fails to meet the demands, UCM would be launching more intense agitation.
For this, all the necessary preparations have been made, Nabachandra said, and appealed to the public for co-operation and support in the sit-in-protest being carrying out in different parts of the State.
