'Essential repeat' students inspired by career counselling session

Few intellectual youths of Saitu Gamphazol area in Kangpokpi district who who formed a group 'With Love', organized a special programme for the unsuccessful students of the area where they motivated them with career guidance and career counseling.
The career guidance and counselling cum blessing prayer was organized under the theme, "Towards inspiring the youth", based on a Gospel Proverb.
Pastor Khuptinlal Hangshing, KBC No 4 and Letginlen Doungel, research scholar, Delhi University attended as resource persons.
Lalcha Haokip, member of With Love said that every year when examination results of HSLC and HSE is declared, various organizations, NGOs and other bodies praise and felicitate the successful students while almost none have considered it worthwhile to inspire the unsuccessful students.
He continued that ignoring the unsuccessful students has now taken its shape in a very destructive ways in the society as most of such students start to gain destructive mindset of considering himself/herself useless in the family and society.
He also pointed out that the pain and suffering of these students are hardly acknowledge even by the parents, responsible social leaders and friends, which give them more weight in their ordeal of being unsuccessful and that makes them unable to envisage their future career.
Considering the ugly turn, the group decided to embark on motivating and felicitating these unsuccessful students and also use the platform to provide them career guidance and counseling to inspire and make them aware of their future career, he added.
Pastor Khuptinlal Hangshing said that being disheartened with failure is of human nature but to let that demolish your career will be your fault.
Letginlen Doungel, research scholar of Delhi University, enlightened the students with various optional career apart from academic and motivated them with a popular proverbial, "failure is the stepping stone to success" .
A blessing prayer marked the end of the occasion.
