State crosses 1000-mark twice in two days, 17 die
Positivity rate reaches 7 per cent; record number of 6393 tests conducted in 24 hours

The state on Sunday recorded 17 deaths from Covid-19 along with registering the highest ever single day spike of 1032 new cases and single day positivity rate of 16 per cent.
Sunday also reported highest ever single day tests with 6393 samples tested in the last 24 hours as state's cumulative positivity rate reached 7 per cent.
With the addition of 1032 new cases, the caseload has reached 8482 out of which 4708 are recuperating in home isolation while the remaining 3774 are undergoing treatment in healthcare facilities including district hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
The 17 fatalities reported on Sunday included a 53-year old male (IW), a 54-year old male (IE), a 63-year old female (CCpur), a 35-year old female (CCpur), a 56-year old female (CCpur), a 31-year old female (CCpur), a 61-year old male (CCpur), a 54-year old male (Ukl), an 83-year old male (IW), a 42-year old male (IW), a 97-year old male (IE), a 58-year old male (IE), a 42-year old female (Kak), a 63-year old male (IE), a 71year old female (IW), a 50-year old female (Kak) and a 49-year old female (IE) who died at Shija Hospitals (1), Babina (1), DH Churachandpur (5), DH Ukhrul (1), Raj Medicity (2), JNIMS (4) and RIMS (3) hospital respectively.

The cumulative number of deaths is 793 .
According to official reports, the 1032 new cases included 1027 people (542 male & 485 female) from among the general population and 5 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (50), JNIMS (163), District Hospitals (454) and other private testing centres (365).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (281), Imphal West (310), Thoubal (95), Bishnupur (78), Kakching (36), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (100), Chandel (5), Senapati (18), Tamenglong (46), Tengnoupal (11), Kangpokpi (1), Jiribam (25), Kamjong (9), Noney (1) and Pherzawl (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 563 patients were discharged from CAPF (10), home isolation (414), RIMS (14), JNIMS (7), BB (6), NSU (10), SHRI (11), LANVA (16), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (35), Jivan Hospital (3), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (5), Kangpokpi (3), Churachandpur (8), Chandel (1), Ukhrul (12) and Tengnoupal (4) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 49,882 (general population -46,125 and CAPF personnel - 3,757) .
Number of recovered cases is 40,607 (general population - 36,902 and CAPF personnel - 3,705) and number of active cases is 8,482 (general population - 8,435 and CAPF personnel - 47).The recovery rate is 81.41 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1875 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 512 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District Hospitals and government institutions have 352 D and 78 B type filled cylinders, and district wise allocation is Bishnupur (28D full, 24 running, 8B), Chandel (34D, 9B), Churachandpur (84D, 0B), Senapati (41D, 0B), Thoubal (48D, 22B), Ukhrul (19D, 7B), Tamenglong (26D, 12B), Jiribam (36D, 11B), Moreh (17D, 5B), Kakching (5D, 0B), Kangpokpi (5D, 1B), Pherzawl (4D, 3B), Kamjong (3D,1B) and Noney (2D, 0B).So far, 3,82,352 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and 80,172 have completed second dose.
Meanwhile, 47 new positive cases were detected during RAT in Kakching district on Sunday.
One of them is from Thoubal district and the remaining are residents of Kakching district.
Three positive cases were detected at Ema Hospital, eight at Jivan Hospital and 36 at government RAT Centre.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (17,897), Imphal East (11,554), Thoubal (3638), Churachandpur (3558), Kangpokpi (1435), Tamenglong (1798), Bishnupur (2728), Senapati (1190), Ukhrul (1129), Kakching (2139), Chandel (858), Noney (506), Tengnoupal (516), Jiribam (462), Kamjong (399) and Pherzawl (75).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (301), Imphal East (208), Thoubal (76), Churachandpur (61), Kangpokpi (20), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (51), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (11), Kakching (33), Chandel (12), Noney (1), Tengnoupal (3), Jiribam (1), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
The state health authority is not willing to provide district-specific case status despite repeated request from media.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 16,075 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 20,140 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,29,706 tests per million population against the national average of 2,46,485 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 6393 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 16.14 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rises to 7 per cent.
