Thadou Inpi-GHQ implores alternative arrangement for Tribal colony Imphal

Kangpokpi, April 28 2021:
The Thadou Inpi-General Headquarters appealed to the State Government to find an alternative arrangement in a timely manner so as to avoid making the people residing in Tribal Colony, Imphal homeless and various other problems.
James Haokip, general secretary, Thadou Inpi-GHQ stated that it (Thadou Inpi) is not opposing the renovation/reconstruction of the houses/buildings in Tribal Colony at Imphal but is disturbed by the plan to change the name of the complex, Tribal Colony.
While seeking the attention of the Chief Minister in connection with the order for eviction of the Tribal Colony Imphal residents, James Haokip continued that the Thadou Inpi have put forth their grievances for a positive and timely redressal by the State Government.
He also said that Thadou being the largest indigenous tribe in Manipur, its population is scattered in every part of the Country and the State with about 50 households in the Tribal Colony quarters.
Thadou Inpi-GHQ further appealed to the State Government to intervene and figure out an alternative arrangement for the people residing in the Tribal Colony.
