Imphal, October 24 2015 :
Tribal Youth Council, Manipur (TYCM) has strongly condemned what it called "discriminations, bias and arbitrariness" meted out towards particular course of studies in issuing of admit cards to applicants for the recruitment of Assistant Professors in the Government Colleges of Manipur conducted by Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) .
In a statement, TYCM Joint Secretary Decemring said that "there is not a single university or college/department in the whole of India where subjects of social sciences are offered under a separate Department or University.
In all the universities, different subjects are offered under the Department of Social Sciences and their status are same in all respect" .
However, MPSC has unfairly and arbitrarily discriminated against some applicants for the recruitment of the posts based on courses offered by them.
Decemring alleged that some applicants were already issued admit cards while others were rejected without any reasonable justification even though they offered similar courses under the same inter-disciplinary studies.
Some offered International studies, some studied political theory.
Such streams are under the Social Sciences, he said.
Decemring further said some candidates have complaint to the Secretary of MPSC.
The Secretary told them to lodge the complaint to the Director of Education (U).
But when the candidates approached the Director of Education (U), the Director asked them to go to Secretary of MPSC.
Now, the applicants whose applications were rejected are in total confusion in respect of Rules followed by the MPSC in recruitment of Assistant Professors, whether it is under University Grant Commission (UGC) or ADC cannot be ascertained.
TYCM demanded the responsible authority to immediate made clear on the candidates' confusion.
On rejecting the application without proper justification is violation of Article 14 of the Constitution and Principle of Natural justice.
TYCM will not accept such types of unfair actions of MPSC and appealed the responsible authority to take necessary steps.
