While appealing to the people of the state to refrain from any communal acts and not to hate the people of a whole community for the hardships they are facing due to the ongoing economic blockades, Consumers Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister N Biren today said that some fanatics who do not believe in democracy is causing all the hardships to the whole people of the state by imposing economic blockades.
While attending the Annual Get Together Meeting of DM College of Teachers' Education, the Minister said that the state is in a very critical situation.
The ongoing economic blockade in demand of a full-fledged Sadar Hills district is the handiwork of political instigation.
People are now facing the flaks of the past mistakes.
People are demanding the government to use force to suppress the ongoing economic blockades as stocks of essential commodities is depleting in the state rapidly.
If ever the government use force and power to suppress the agitators, many unwanted incidents will arise amounting even to death and injuries.
Such actions will only bring destructions to the people of the state.
If their demand is granted, ferocious communal clashes will take place from the next day itself, he asserted.
In order to give some relief to the grief stricken people, the government is using all its power to bring in essential commodities along the NH 37 by providing heavy security escorts.
In such situation, public cooperation is very necessary for the government to control the matter.
Government is taking up certain steps to control the price rise of essential commodities in the state.
A joint discussion between the government and the businessmen in Imphal area which is to be held today will review the price list submitted by the businessmen and come up with a solution soon, he said.
He further said that the role of teachers in a society is very big.
It is the teacher who teaches the younger generations for a better future.
The recruitment of RMSA teacher was carried out in mark basis to refrain from corrupt practice in recruitment process.
Furthermore, the recruitment of Primary teachers under SSA will be carried out on mark basis by calculating the performances in TET and academic career.
Additional Director, University and Higher Education Dr RK Yaiskul and Principal, DM College of Teachers' Education Dr H Ibomcha also attended the function as presidium members.
