Four youth campers hospitalised

Four participants of National Youth Integration Camp being held at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex here have been hospitalized after eating iromba dish (Manipuri traditional food) made of
cauliflower leaves.
Doctors at JNIMS said the four campers, two girls and two boys, have become ill from food poisoning caused by the iromba dish made of cauliflower leaves.
They were taken to Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal on Wednesday morning after they suffered from loose motions with vomiting.
Campers N Bhanupati Devi of Lilong Chajing in Thoubal district, Shakhenbi Devi of Lairenkabi Mayai Leikai, Imphal West, O Mani of Singjamei Makha Naorem Leikai, Imphal West, and S Rajesh of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai in Thoubal district ate the iromba dish made of cauliflower leaves last night at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
The vegetable was bought from Khwairamban bazaar.
Luckily, campers from other states participating in the camp did not have the dish.
Some of the campers were having the dinner together with them.
Notably, 23 personnel of 7th IRB posted at Uchathol in Jiribam subdivision of Imphal East district were hospitalized after they suffered from loose motions with vomiting after having cauliflower leaves bought from Imphal Khwairamband bazaar in November last year.
