Imphal, April 21 2015 :
As part of their sustained agitation, VDF personnel from different districts of the State under the aegis of All Manipur VDF Welfare Association staged a sit in protest today at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai here.
The agitating personnel warned of launching a 'court-arrest' stir if the demands raised by them are not met with at the earliest.
The sit-in today began from 11 am and went on till 4 pm.
Speaking to media persons, publicity secretary of AMVDFWA, N Romeshwar said that the agitation has been carried on as the Govt has failed to fulfil the demands of the VDF personnel.
He also urged the CM to translate his promise given to the VDF personnel so that they may resume their duties.
Romeshwar further warned of launching a 'court-arrest' agitation if their demands are not met with at the earliest.
And the Govt should be held responsible for any outcome thereof.
He also said that the CM and Dy CM have failed to grant appointment to the VDF personnel every time an appointment is sought for talks although the Association is ready for talks to settle the problems.
The Govt would not succeed in any attempt to subdue the VDF through threat or intimidation.
This will only invite more trouble.
The demands of the VDF are not unreasonable, Romeshwar stressed.
