Imphal, June 20 2018:
Proletarian Feminist Movement Manipur (PoFM) has conveyed that the failure of the State Govt in delivering justice to the allegations made against Manipuri weightlifter Khumukcham Sanjita is quite unfortunate.
Regarding the matter, a leaders meet will be held on June 24, PoFM said and appealed to all sports loving people to attend the meeting.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, PoFM president N Sarjubala said that many sports players have brought laurels to the State even though the State Government has failed to provide sufficient facilities for them most of the time, and these players are often suppressed or pressured by many external forces from time to time.
The State Govt's lack of attention and the failure to investigate the doping charge filed against her can be considered as a racial discrimination, she alleged.
Such incident is not new among the sports players of the State, she claimed.
Since, this incident has now occurred to a woman sport player, PoFM will not remain a mere spectator, she said while adding that necessary steps will be launched by PoFM until the allegation is investigated properly and justice is delivered.
Following the meeting to be held on June 24, a committee is set to launch different agitations.
She further appealed all, especially sport loving people to attend the said meeting.
