5 held for kidnapping child, two children rescued

Police today rescued two small children from the clutch of four kidnappers who held them hostages to realize a certain sum of money from their father who duped the four by luring them with the promise of lucrative jobs in New Delhi.
The four kidnappers and the father of the children who duped the four have been arrested by the police.
The two children who were kidnapped by the four were Laishram Sumita (8) and her brother Laishram Bosochand (5) children of Laishram Bocha of Haobam Marak Ngangom Leikai.
The four kidnappers were identified as Harichand and his wife Purnima from Thoubal, Khundrakpam Surbala from Thoubal and Sanasam Nganbi from Pangei.
According to police, Bocha reported about the kidnapping case to Singjamei Police and told the police about a call threatening to kill his children if he failed to give back their amount of Rs 1.55 lakh.
Reacting on the report, police raided the house of Sanasam Nganbi of Pangei and rescued the two children.
Meanwhile, family members of the kidnappers told reporters that Bocha had taken Rs 1.5 lakh from Harichand from Thoubal promising him a lucrative job in Delhi.
Harichand along with Bocha went to Delhi and lived in a rented house there.
However, Bocha failed to provide him the job he had promised.
After some days, Bocha went missing from the rented house.
Harichand with Bocha's two children kept waiting for his return.
As Boicah did not return even after the passage of many a days, Harichand took the children along with him and came back home and kept the children a t Nganbi's home.
He also asked Bocha to come and take his children and also asked him to give back his money.
