The United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA/KNO) has called for the completion of road construction work in Thanlon and Nungba sub-division taken up under PMGSY packages .
A statement issued by the outfit alleged that funds to the tune of Rs 4,30,00,000/- (Rupees four crore thirty lakh) has already been withdrawn under PMGSY 2013-14, Package No 359 for the construction of 11 kms stretch between Songsang to Pangen Phaijang in Churachandpur’s Thanlon sub-division .
Concurrently, Rs 2,30,00,000/- (Rupees two crores thirty lakhs) under Package No 796 for the construction of Leikot to Leihaojang villages in Nungba Sub-Division has been withdrawn as well, but the two projects stands neglected and incomplete till date, it asserted .
The statement appealed the contractors concerned to complete the construction for the public interest .
The contractors would be held responsible and the State Government would face consequences and if the demands are not fulfilled at the earliest, the statement added.
