Different bodies across the State observed International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Day today.
Manipur Network of Positive People (MNP+) observed the day at its office at Yaiskul Hiruhanba Leikai.
MACS Project Director (Tech) Dr Kh Pramodkumar, ISTV News Chief Editor Rupachandra Yumnam and MNP+ President L Deepak graced the occasion as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Integrated Women and Children Development Centre, Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai organised a one-day sensitization programme for the spouses and widows in connection with the observance.
Human Rights Law Network Assistant Director Premlata Devi spoke in the observance as resource person.
Social Awareness Service Organization (SASO) also observed the day on the theme, 'Many Lights for Human Rights' at its head office.
Family members of PLHIV shared their feelings, gaps and challenges in the programme.
Kripa Society of Imphal West and East also organized different programmes at their drop-in-centres.
A one-minute silence was observed to mark respect to the persons died of HIV/AIDS.
Volunteers of the body also lit up candles at different locations.
In the programme organized by Leprosy Patients' Welfare Society, MACS Project Director (Tech) Dr Kh Pramodkumar and LEWS Secretary A Tolen were the chief guest and president respectively.
Empowerment of Community for � Human Education and Multiple Advancement (ECHEMA) lit up candles in and around Lamphel Super market in the evening in connection with the day.
ECHEMA observed the day with local populace at its office.Bishnupur Network of Positive People (BNP+) and Network for Positive People, Imphal West also observed the day.
