Two individuals have been remanded to three days police custody for allegedly assaulting a 22-year-old female by the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Imphal East today.
The two accused identified as Takhellambam Joyson @ Nanao (25) of Yairipok Top Chingtha and Mutum Nganba (42) of Yairipok Top Chingtha Laimanai were produced in the Court by a team of Andro Police Station along with a prayer for three days police custody remand.
The two accused were arrested yesterday.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim, on July 10 at around 3.30 pm, the accused Takhellambam Joyson and Mutum Nganba allegedly assaulted the girl without any reason.
The victim was with her friends eating pineapples on the roadside of Imphal Ngariyan road near Karpur Sungba village when the alleged incident happened.
She sustained injuries and scratch mark on her right face.
The Investigating Officer of the case, in the Court, claimed that the accused during preliminary interrogation have admitted to the charges levelled against them.
The Court on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO, remanded the two to three days police remand till July 17 .
