Imphal, August 14, 2012:
Pressing the state government over various demands, technical support staff of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) would observe Pen Down strike on August 16 and 17,
informed Pari Luwang, Secretary of All Manipur NRHM Technical Support Staff Union today.
Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club today, Pari Luwang said that
the Union submitted a memorandum to the state government highlighting their demands.
They also met Health Commissioner Moses Chalai and State Mission Director of NRHM,
Deves Deval.
However, the meeting could not arrive at an amicable solution.
So, in a bid to draw attention of the government, all the technical support staff of NRHM
will be observing a two-day pen down strike on August 16 and 17, he said.
If the government remains silent over the demands even after the pen down strike, the Union
may be constraint to take recourse to various intense agitations including sit-in demonstration and cease work strike.
The Union is demanding the government to revoke
the order of Performance Based Honorarium (PBH) and implement the pay structure of 2009-10.
