Liangmai Naga Council, Zeliangrong Baudi decry killing among Nagas

The Liangmai Naga Council, Manipur and the Zeliangrong Baudi ( M) in separate statements condemned the recent incident which occurred on October 7 that killed five NSCN-IM cadres and one civilian in a clash between Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF)'s armed wing Zeliangrong Tigers Force (ZTF) and NSCN-IM in Tamenglong district.
The Liangmai Naga Council appealed to all the Nagas to stop killings among themselves.
It further appealed to all the Naga factions to join hand in the reconciliation process and support the ongoing peace process and maintain oneness of Nagas.
The Zeliangrong Baudi ( M), an apex body of Zeliangrong people regretted the unfortunate incident that occurred on October 7 between ZUF and NSCN-IM near the border area of Taoshang and Leishok village under Nungba sub-division, Tamenglong district ( M).
In view of the present situation, Zeliangrong Baudi honestly appeals to all groups to refrain from further bloodshed and operations for the time being to give chance for negotiations since all groups have committed to strengthen the Naga reconciliation under Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), said a press release issued by the body.
It further appealed to uphold peace and give time to be able to negotiate and bring peace in between the two groups.
