Following an understanding arrived between Chief Minister O Ibobi and JAC, body of Modhusing who allegedly died in the custody of 12 Madras Regiment, has been taken by his family today.
The understanding was brought with the JAC constituted in connection with the death of Modhusing and the Chief Minister in a meeting held yesterday.
The JAC submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding punishment of LP school teacher Chingtham Ningthem (37) and associated Kuki UGs, who are allegedly instrumental in the arrest of Modhusing.
The JAC also pressed for punishment of involved Army personnel and immediate and unconditional release of Modhusing's brother Bungochandra, who was arrested with Modhusing.
The JAC also demanded for instituting a Judicial Inquiry into the incident and taking up of measure not to happen such incident in future in nearby villages.
The memorandum not only alleged Ch Ningthem Kuki for having connection with Kuki UG groups but also involving in extortion.
Naorem Modhusing (25) and his younger brother Bungochandra were arrested by a combined team of Bishnupur district police commandos and troops of 12 Madras Regiment in the night of August 11 .
