Imphal, April 12 2019:
Veteran politician O Joy has categorically asserted that Congress candidate in Inner Manipur PC O Nabakishore is innocent.
Speaking at a home coming ceremony of Dr N Dwijamani cum public discussion on the Lok Sabha election held at Lainingthou Khamlangba community, Uripok Polem Leikai today, O Joy questioned why the Vigilance Commission gave clearance to O Nabakishore's retirement if any case was pending against him.
Asserting that BJP candidate RK Ranjan was once shot in the leg for his involvement in graft practices when he was serving as the Registrar of Manipur University, Joy dared Amit Shah, K Bhabananda, N Biren, Narendra Modi and RK Ranjan to clarify the graft charges.
The report of the enquiry instituted against Manipur VC Prof AP Pandey is now in the custody of the High Court of Manipur under seal but RK Ranjan had the audacity to proclaim that Prof Pandey is innocent, Joy remarked.

He then asked if RK Ranjan was authorised to make such comments on a case is pending at the High Court and questioned if it was not contempt of Court.
A team of State BJP leaders went to Delhi and met interlocutor RN Ravi when a Framework Agreement was signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM, and RN Ravi told them that the unique history of Nagas has been recognised, Joy recounted.
He then asked the State BJP leaders including RK Ranjan if the history of Manipur is not unique.
When British empire colonised all the princely States and kingdoms of India one after another, Manipur did not surrender to the British empire.
"Five British officers were beheaded and we fought a fierce war against British forces and many Manipuri patriots were hung to death.
The Indian National flag was first unfurled at Moirang in 1944 even before India became independent", Joy pointed out.
He then asked if these historical facts do not constitute a unique history of Manipur.
Congress party respects O Nabakishore as the State's former Chief Secretary but BJP has no such decency, he said.
Y Surchandra of Kakching is a retired IAS officer but he is given least importance within BJP.
It is Andro's Th Shyamkumar who commands greater respect within BJP even though he created a sensation when he spoke in English for the first time, Joy said.
Likewise, P Saratchandra of Moirang served as a Principal Secretary and he is a rare son of the soil who can handle Finance Department.
But he too is given least importance within BJP.
To BJP, Jiri Sarat is more important than Moirang Sarat, Joy continued.
He asserted that O Nabakishore is not a weakling but a highly qualified candidate for the Lok Sabha election.
MLA N Loken, MLA K Govindas, O Nabakishore and N Dwijamani too spoke at the gathering.
