Govt urges UNC for collective efforts

Imphal, April 12 2018:
Through the Ministry of Home Affairs, the State Government has appealed to the United Naga Council (UNC) to work together in order to find a mutually acceptable solution.
As agreed at the last round of tripartite talks held on March 23 at Senapati, the State Government conveyed its position to the UNC through the Ministry of Home Affairs.
In a letter sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the State Government appealed to the UNC to work collectively so as to find out a mutually acceptable solution to the issue (creation of new districts).
The last round of tripartite talks held on March 23 agreed that the State Government would come to a concrete position and the same would be conveyed to the UNC by April 10, and the next round of meeting was fixed on April 27 .
The UNC has been demanding revocation of the State Govt order whereby seven new districts were created.
So far the UNC and the State Govt have held eight rounds of talk in the presence of representatives from the MHA.
