Health camp held, relief materials provided

Humanitarian aid continues to pour in from different stakeholders including clubs, meira paibi groups and civil society organisations for people affected and displaced by the communal violence and are taking shelter in various relief camps.
A free health camp for displaced Meitei people of Moreh taking shelter at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex relief camp was organised by Thoubal District Health Society under the aegis of the DC on Wednesday.
During the health camp, a total of 45 people were screened and medicines provided.
Thoubal DC Ahanthem Subash, SP Jogeshchandra Haobijam, CMO Dr Y Nokul and district hospital medical superintendent Dr W Ruhinikumar were also present during the health camp.
Meanwhile, Peace and & Relief Committee, Wangjing Tentha AC formed under the initiative of Wangjing-Ten-tha MLA Paonam Brojen also provided essential items to the relief centres opened in different parts of Thoubal district.
Committee volunteers led by MLA Brojen's wife donated the relief items and monetary assistance to the camps opened at Mayai Kei-thelPLC Academy, Khoirom Junior High School, Grace Academy Kekru and Thoubal Wangmataba TT Hall.
Lilong (Thoubal) Municipal Council and Chaokhat Khongthang Nupi Marup Thoubal Mela ground also provided essential materials to the people staying at relief camps opened in ana around Wangjing.
The team provided edibles, drinking water and clothes to camps opened at Wangjing Bazar community hall by Youth Voluntary Association (YVA), Wangjing and Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports complex relief camp opened by Social and Cultural Development Centre (SOCDEC) Wangjing.
The Wangkhem Kendra Muslim Minority Development Committee (Central Committee) also handed over essential items to the relief camp opened at Yairipok bamon Leikai Khunou.
Young Citizens' Club, Yairipok Bamon Leikai also extended help to various relief camps opened in the district and appealed for restoring peace in the state.
On the other hand, people of Tekcham provided relief materials to camps opened in Khundrakpam, Kumbi, Moirang, Thanga, Andro and Wangjing Tentha assembly constituencies.
