Imphal, November 09 2020:
The proscribed PREPAK has underscored the importance of economic rejuvenation and growth in Kanglei society instead of waiting for mercy, grants and aids from the alleged alien Government.
A statement issued by the outfit's publicity and propaganda secretary in-charge Leibaak Ngaakpa Luwang ahead of the 'Martyrs Memorial Day' (Athoubasinggi Ningsing Numit) appealed to all the people not to organise or indulge in any merry-making on the day (November 12) but offer lights at the gates of each and every household and also at the memorial tombs of 'martyrs' .
The outfit has been observing 'Martyrs Memorial Day' every year on November 12 in commemoration of the twin incidents which took place in 1978 and 1985 at Leimarok, Kameng and Kabowakching.
In the Leimarok incident, PREPAK's Dhiren, Kabikanta and PLA's Gambhir were killed in a gunfight with a combined force of CRPF and Manipur Police.
The outfit's leader Ningthemcha Tulachandra alias Loyataba was killed in the Kabowakching incident.
It is a common attribute of all colonial rulers to keep the colonised people under their complete control and violate the right to life of the masses at will, said the outfit.
The Indian military forces have been following a carrot and stick policy in Kangleipak.
They first subjected the masses to all kinds of repressive measures before doling out some relief items or physical/material assistance to women groups, local clubs and students in the name of military civic action programme, it alleged.
At the same time, the alien rule has been projecting the legitimate liberation movement as terrorism, it said.
According to the outfit's statement, the economic foundation of globalization is privatisation which brings economic welfare to a few people while land resources of the vast majority of people are taken over by MNCs.
Whereas free trade agreements always favour only economically powerful Nations, Central schemes only create discord and animosity among the impoverished masses as they are forced to fight for the little benefits these schemes promise or bring.
Thus New Delhi has been creating a notion among the masses that Kangleipak cannot survive without assistance and support from the alien rule, it said.
Political ideology and National economy are the twin foundations of the ongoing liberation movement, and the fundamental class contradiction is between the oppressed people and the oppressors.
Among the oppressed class, it is the peasants, workers and the poor masses who have been craving for radical change as early as possible.
Now more and more people of Kangleipak have understood that the ongoing armed movement is a movement to bring a free, prosperous and egalitarian society, the outfit claimed.
It called upon all the people to share their knowledge and resources in combating the COVID-19 pandemic collectively.
It also called upon all the people to wage a liberation movement en masse in order to restore the lost sovereignty of Kangleipak and lay the foundation of a peaceful, prosperous and egalitarian society.
The outfit then paid homage to all the 'martyrs' who had laid down their lives in the course of the liberation movement.
