Rashtriya Poshan Maah sensitisation programme held at CCpur and Noney

Churachandpur DC Pawan Yadav today chaired a sensitisation programme on convergence of all departments in regard to Poshan Maah (Nutrition Month) in respect of Churachandpur district.
The preparedness and activities of various departments which were assigned to conduct different activities were reviewed and discussed.
Workshop on diarrhea, anemia, nutrition and health education, demonstration of cooking with locally available vegetables, Poshan rally at school and AWC levels, demonstration on hand washing technique, awareness campaign on locally available foods and their nutritive values, painting competition on sanitation at school level, campaign on kitchen gardening at village level, mass cleanliness drive at village level, Poshan Mela at sub-division level, campaign on hygienic disposal of domestic waste at village and block levels, personal hygiene on adolescent girls, health checkup and growth monitoring for children are among other activities to be taken up by different line departments during the month-long observance which was kicked off on September 2 at the district level.
Noney: Rashtriya Poshan Maah-2019 programme cum Free Medical Camp for the pregnant women of Longmai (Noney) District was held today at PHC Noney, under Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA).
The programme was organised by the District Health Society Longmai (Noney) & Primary Health Centre (PHC) Noney in co-ordination with ICDS division.
After the formal programme was held at PHC Campus, a Poshan rally was also held and was kicked off from PHC Noney to Longmai (Noney) Bazar Bridge point and returned to the programme venue.
Slogan like "Health is Well", "Eat good food, drink safe drinking water", "Eat more fruit", "Keep malnutrition free" etc, were raised in the rally which saw participation from around 200 women folks.
In the medical camp, about 157 pregnant women were examined by the Gynaecologist specialist Dr Bilashani Tayenjam and Dr Lenin Luwang while 147 women were done Ultrasound by Radiologist Dr Ruhi Gupta.
Special diets, vitamin, Calcium, Iron tablets etc, were also distributed to all the pregnant woman in the camp.
Dr Edwin Golmei CMO Noney, Dr Sunil Kumar DNO Maternal Health, Dr Gaiduanreiliu Gangmei DNO PMSMA ANC, Dr Gairanlung Thaimei, MO i/c Noney PHC, Dr Louisa Golmei MO PHC Noney, Nurses and women health workers also participated in the programme.
