The Convenor of JAC against the killing of Dr Th Kishan, Y Token and A Rajen, Yumlembam Kapur has sought information to the State Public Information Officer (SPIO) under Section 6 (1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 on the whereabouts of former Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul district, Pankaj Pal, IAS following a newspaper report that said that police could not find Mr Pal for investigation some ten days back.
It may be mentioned that Pankaj Pal has been under suspension in the wake of the brutal murder of SDO Dr Kishan and two of his subordinates, Y Token and A Rajen by cadres of the NSCN (IM) in February last.
In his application to the SPIO, Y Kapur wanted to know where Mr.Pal is at present and asked to furnish a copy of suspension order of Pankaj Pal, a copy of an order for his stay at the district headquarters, and how long had he been at his designated place.
The applicant also sought information on who are the responsible officials involved for his release from the headquarters.
It also asks for reason as to why the officer was released and to furnish a copy of an order affecting his release from the headquarters.
Kapur further seeks to know whether there has been any case against Pankaj Pal in connection with the killing of Dr Kishan, former SDO of Kasom Khulen, Ukhrul and asks to furnish a copy of the FIR.
He also asked for the reason in case no FIR was filed against Pankaj Pal.
