Prohibitory order issued at examination centres in Thoubal district

Thoubal, December 08 2018:
Office of the District Magistrate, Thoubal district has issued a prohibitory order prohibiting assembly of five and more persons and carrying of lethal weapons such as sticks, stone, firearms etc within a perimeter of 100 metres from the Examination centres at Lilong Haoreibi College, Lilong; Thoubal College, Thoubal, Waikhom Mani Girls' College, Thoubal; Yairipok Universal College, Yairipok and YK College, Wangjing with effect from 8 am to 5 pm from December 5, 2018 to January 21, 2019 or till the examination are over, said a statement released by District Magistrate, Thoubal.
The order is not applicable to Govt Officials/machineries involved in the enforcement of law and order, military/paramilitary/police forces, teachers, students and officials involved in the conduct of the examination and to individuals with specific special permit issued by the District Magistrate, Thoubal and Superintendent of Police, Thoubal, added the statement.
The prohibitory order is issued following a letter that has been received from the Controller of Examination, i/c, Manipur University, Canchipur to Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal district intimating that the BA/BSc/BCom/BSc Biotech/BSc Food Technology/Bachelor of Social Work 1st/3rd/5th Semester Examination 2018 are being commenced from December 5, 2018 to January 21, 2019 at various Examination centres with a request to make all necessary arrangement for smooth conducted of the said examination in a peaceful and transparent manner and to extend all possible help to the concerned Officer-in-Charge of the Examination Centres, maintained the statement.
