Killers of Nongdrenkhomba offered Rs 20 lakh : NIA

In a startling revelation in the PREPAK exChairman murder case, National Investigation Agency (NIA) disclosed that the exchairman of the outfit Ningombam Nabachandra @ Nongdrenkhomba and his driver Leishangthem Sanjit Singh were killed by the accused in the case who were offered Rs 20 lakh to do so.
The accused are Thokchom Gouri @ Ibungo (25) s/o Ibomcha Singh of Wangoo Sandangkhong; Ahongsangbam Kingson @ Yaiphaba (23) s/o (L) Chaoba Singh of Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai; Laichombam Naocha @ Malangba (24) s/o Basanta Singh of Sugnu Wangpokpi Mamang Leikai; Urikhinbham Budhichandra @ Budhi @ Poirei (44) s/o Bheudhop of Sekmaijin Thongam Leikai and Haobam Ahead @ Lemba Singh (40) s/o (L) Danikumar Singh of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai.
According to a press release issued by NIA to the press, during the investigation, Th Gouri, A Kingson, L Naocha, Chongtham Manglemjao @ KK Nganba, Tongbram Sanjit @ Pari @ Boy and H Ahead were arrested for their involvement in the killing.
Two 9 mm pistols used in commission of the offence were also seized at their instance.
The release revealed that U Budhichandra, PREPAK publicity secretary was tasked to get Nongdrenkhomba killed by senior cadres of the outfit after the latter surrendered before Government of Manipur in December 2014 .
His surrender generated animosity towards him.
Budhichandra contacted T Sanjit for killing the ex-chairman and offered Rs 20 lakh for the same.
Further, T Sanjit hired Th Gouri who in turn instructed A Kingson and L Naocha for the killing.
Kingson and Naocha killed Nongdrenkhomba and his driver on the intervening night of June 21 and June 22 of last year.
The weapons for the assasination were arranged by Budhichandra and were delivered to the killers through one conduit, NIA claimed in the release.
At present Gouri, Kingson, Naocha and Ahead are in judicial custody and KK Nganba is on bail.
Budhichandra is still at large and believed to be in Myanmar.
NIA is continuing investigation against the other accused, it said.
