Imphal, April 08 2013:
In a startling revelation to the ongoing chaotic situation in the State following the death of Ningombam Satyabhama, who was found strangled to death and abandoned at Wangkhei Loumanbi Loukon under Irilbung Police Station on April 5, James, the alleged killer, called up Hueiyen Lanpao today to plead his innocence.
James made the call on the Readers Care Number (8414881783) of Hueiyen Lanpao exactly at 2 pm today.
The telephone was received by a staff of Hueiyen Lanpao.
When the staff enquired about the identity of the caller, he identified himself as James and said that he is the one that the police are searching in connection with the death of Ningombam Satyabhama.
James requested the staff for giving the telephone number of Superintendent of Police (SP), Imphal East district.
As the staff in-charge of Readers Care Number did not have the contact number of SP Imphal East, he told James that he could provide the contact number of SP of Imphal West and gave him the number.
The staff also told James that Imphal West SP is a good person to whom he could pour out his heart and tell the truth.

While talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, James disclosed that had a love affair with Satyabhama and he loved her truly.
But he was not at all involved in the killing Satyabhama. James said that when he heard the news of death of Satyabhama, he went to her house but security personnel deployed there stopped him from entering the gate of the house.
So he left the place heartbroken and headed for Pallel.
James informed that he was searching for the telephone number of the police so that he could tell the truth and also help the police in finding the truth.
As soon as the staff of Hueiyen Lanpao gave the number of SP of Imphal West to James, the staff calls up the SP and told the police officer about the whole incident.
The staff also requested the SP to talk to James just in case he calls up.
The SP then told the staff of Hueiyen Lanpao to hand over the telephone number from which James had called.
Accordingly, the telephone number was handed over to the SP.
The number through which James had called up the office of Hueiyen Lanpao was +91 8416063410 .
However, when Hueiyen Lanpao tried to track down the place of the caller by using a specific mechanism, it was found that the person who identified as James was calling from Vikarabad, a place in Hyderabad city in Andhra Pradesh.
After about half an hour after James called up to Hueiyen Lanpao, the staff again made a call to the number through which James had called up, but it was found switched off.
Later in the evening, when Hueiyen Lanpao contacted the SP of Imphal West to confirm whether James contacted him, the SP told that he had talked with James for about five minutes.
In this regard, the SP said that during the course of the telephonic conversation, the caller said he is the same James that everyone is talking about in connection with the Satyabhama case, but he pleaded that he is innocent and was not involved in the killing at all.
The SP also told James that if he does not come out in the open and tell the truth to the people, he would be taken wrongly by the public and asked him where he was presently so that they could meet.
In response, James said that he is outside Manipur but he hails from a place in Imphal East.
In spite of all these revelations and developments, it is still not clear whether the caller was exactly James, the alleged culprit, whose head is being sought by the police as well as by the angry people.
On the other hand, state police department which have reportedly setup a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the case have not yet disclosed anything about the results of their investigation so far.
They have also not been able to pick up any suspects who might be involved in the killing.
It is also still not known how the carry bag containing the clothings and other documents of Satyabhama landed at the spot where her body was found abandoned.
If that carry bag actually belonged to Satyabhama, then she must have come out of her home with the intention of not returning back for at least some time.
The lifeless body of Satyabhama, who was working as a Junior Research Fellow at RIMS, was found abandoned at a dried up canal at Khongman Wangkhei Loumanbi Loukon in the afternoon of April 5 .
