Imphal, September 07 2015:
A senior Bihari living in Manipur has decried the act of halting trains and searching for Manipuri people with the intention to pull them down and send them back from where they come by Bihar MP Pappu Yadav and his supporters.
Though his parents were from Bihar, Kisan Prasad was born at Yaiskul here and he has been living in Manipur for the past 65 years.
The public protest for enforcement of ILPS or similar mechanism in Manipur has been wrapped up after the Manipur Legislative Assembly passed three Bills.
Now peace has returned to the State.
Kisan Prasad, a senior citizen of Imphal Bazar community, then appealed to Pappu Yadav to come to Manipur and make a direct assessment of the prevailing situation.
It was disheartening that Pappu Yadav and his supporters halted trains which originated from Delhi, Mum-bai and Chennai and searched for Manipuri people, said Shikandar Yadav, another senior citizen of Imphal Bazar community.
Such actions would only escalate tension rather than bringing peace, Shikandar said.
Meanwhile, singer turned social worker Naba Volcano has called upon all the people of the State including students to cultivate a habit of riding bicycles within 10 Kms radius of one's residence.
