PTCC expresses concern over entry of COVID patient in Patsoi

The Patsoi Tuliyaima Century Club (PTCC) has expressed concern over the incident of a COVID-19 patient being lodged at RD Wing, Lamphel visiting a resident at Patsoi Area.
PTCC in a statement said that neighbours of the house adjacent to the Patsoi police station informed about the entry of a man who don a half pant, a vest and hang towel around his neck at around 5 am .
A police team arrived shortly and secured the area, it said while adding that the locals came to know that the person was a COVID-19 patient only after the police arrived.
An ambulance also arrived to pick up the man who was identified as one Karam Gokulchandra of Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai.
The in-charge of the pick-up team said that the person fled the treatment facility at around 2.30 am, the statement said.
After he was picked up by the team, the club conducted a sanitization drive with the help of Manipur Fire Service team, apart from conducting an awareness campaign across the area using loudspeakers, it continued while questioning how such a person did manage to escape and loiter during such a crucial time.
The club also questioned who would be responsible in case those who came in contact with the person, especially the family of Patsoi whom the person visited, tested positive for COVID-19 .
