The Department of Agriculture has clarified that the IFFCO (Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperation Ltd) urea fertilizer available at present in the market is not from the Department.
The Department has not received any urea fertilizer till date from IFFCO Ltd.
Only stock available with the Department is from BVFCL (Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation) Ltd, said a press release issued by the Department.
The Department had indented 2 rakes of neem coated urea fertilizer from Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Ltd, Namrup in the month of February 2020 .
Out of the two 2 rakes due to COVID-19 Nationwide lockdown, 1 rake was issued by BVFCL Ltd in the month of April.
During the month of May, one rake will be issued by BVFCL, Namrup, 4 rakes by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperation Ltd and one rake by India Potash Ltd, it said.
The Department is taking up all efforts to make sufficient fertiliser available to the farmers during the Kharif 2020 at MRP (Maximum Retail Price), it added.
