Health and Family Welfare Minister Lakpoklakpam Jayantakumar has directed all the officials concerned to take up necessary works to ensure that the people of the State are getting proper benefits of the schemes taken up by the State Health Department as well as the National Health Mission (NHM), during a progress review meeting held at his office chamber at Secretariat South Block today.
During the meeting, the Minister instructed the officials to work tirelessly for the people and directed them to take up necessary steps to spread wide awareness about the schemes of the State Health Department as well as NHM to the people specially the people of remote villages and areas of the State.
According to a reliable source, the meeting also deliberated on possible works which can be taken-up by the Department, as a part of the Go to Village Mission of the State Government which began from May 1 .
During the meeting, it was resolved to organise adequate health camps and awareness programmes and provide mobile van service to the people.
It may be mentioned that around 20 health care programmes under NHM are being currently undertaken in the State, apart from numerous health care programmes/schemes under the State Health Department as well.
Principal Secretary (Health) Vumlunmang Vualnam, Health Director Dr K Rajo Singh, Additional Directors, Nodal officers and officials of Health Department and NHM were also present at the meeting.
