CRPF celebrates 72nd anniversary

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated its 72nd anniversary on November 1 at all its Group Centres and units.
The main celebration was held at Delhi where Minister of State for Home Jitendra Singh graced the function as Chief Guest.
CRPF was raised in 1939 in the name of Crown Representative Police.
After independence,
it was renamed as Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Considered to be one of the largest paramilitary force of India but agile and versatile as well as most wanted force, CRPF is also deployed in Manipur and Nagaland to save the lives of the people and public properties as well as on the duties of controlling law and order problem.
CRPF is playing a vital role in safeguarding the National Highway-37 and Nationl Highway -2 as well as the Raj Bhavan, New and Old Secretariat, IOC Chingmeirong, Old Chief Minister's residence, SBI Old and New Building, RIMS Hospital, Doordarshan Kendra, SIB and CBI offices and FCI godown located in Imphal and NHPC Loktak Project at
Churachandpur.
CRPF also organizes various civic action programmes to improve the living condition of the local people.
