Maram Union fetes Francis Ngajokpa

Francis Ngajokpa, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj received a rousing felicitation at Maram Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Maram today.
The felicitation was organized by Maram Union.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Francis Ngajokpa said that those people settling along NH-2 should come out with helping hand to all the passengers travelling along the highway.
History has it that all the people of the state have been living together as brothers since time immemorial.
Along the NH-2, people belonging to Maram tribe mainly dominate the area.
So, people settling in Maram area should see that their brothers coming all the way from the plains are treated fairly with love and compassion whenever they pass through the highway and help them in reaching their destination safely, the Minister exhorted.
The Minister went on to observe that it is time that the people of Maram serve the people of the state in whatever way they could.
The best way they can do is to help the drivers transporting essential goods from outside and make them feel secure when they pass through NH-2 .
Interacting with mediapersons on the sideline of the felicitation, Minister Francis Ngajokpa informed that the activities of the newly elected Panchayat members would be monitored strictly to ensure that the funds sanctioned for MGNREGS are not misused by them.
He also disclosed that the state government is planning to construct a link road to connect Loktak, Ukhrul, Senapati and Churachandpur.
The construction process would be taken up as soon as the Union Ministry of Rural Development gives its approval.
The function was also attended by K Raisong, President of Maram Union and other leaders of Maram circle.
