Yamthong inspects site for JNV in Saikul

Imphal, June 06 2012:
MLA of Saikul A/C Yamthong Haokip today inspected feasible sites in Phungrei area of Saikul block for establishment of a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya along with other officials concerned.
Speaking to mediapersons on the sideline of the inspection, Yamthong disclosed that the Central government has approved setting up of a JNV in Senapati district.
The inspection for a deciding on a feasible site in Sadar Hills area for construction of Navodaya.
After selection of proper sites, the officials of JNV will have to send a report to the Centre.
The construction will be carried in the site approves by the Central government.
The MLA pointed out that Phungrei is a place under Saikul A/C, which is the ideal place for construction of the proposed JNV.
One villager, Kapangkhui Rockson Rathing Shimrai of Phungrei has also conceded to donate 30 acres of land area for the purpose.
Setting up of the school in the area will be of great help in the development of education in the area.

Monib, Principal of JNV, Bishnupur, who was also present during the inspection, said that there are at present a JNV in every district of the state.
However, with the increase in the number of students, there is also the need to establish two JNVs in every district.The inspection was also attended by Thangboi Haokip, SDO Saikul, N Dhiren, Principal JNV, Khumbong and other officials.
